About Him
Geronimo, Legend and one of the most renowned thoroughbreds of this era, is a fast, agile stallion. He has top notch bloodlines, if not the best bloodlines, along with great conformation, and he is the kind of horse you can't help but stare at. He absolutely loves getting dirty, and rolling in the mud, mucking up his beautiful chestnut coat and perfect hock length tail. Geronimo has a heart of gold, and would do anything and everything to save Matty, no matter what the circumstances. He is brave and courageous, and always has a regal eye-catching look about his smooth gaits and elegance.
He LOVES the ladies! Geronimo's main fault is he gets distracted by the mares and fillies, and he loses focus. He is a TOTAL show off in front of them, parading around, snorting, rearing, his neck arched as he trumpets out to the ladies. He is usually pretty laid back, but is still a horse, spooking at things, and such, and eating a lot, for he really enjoys food. He doesn't rear often, but will throw in a good buck sometimes, and has taken after Boo's bad habit of tossing his head.
He is the one who is digging holes in the pasture, scouting for edible goodies, and coming up with a brown dirty muzzle. When you get him on the track he is steady as a dime and his footing is always right on.
He really listens to your aids when you ask him, just sometimes they don't filter to his brain when a mare goes by, or he gets a tiny bit hot headed when cut off. Now retired, few rivalled him on the track, and at the end of 2006 he was named Horse of the Year, against some incredible horses. He was my great racer, and as my older guys are getting up there in age now, I need a new young colt to replace this amazing stallion. Geronimo's son, Tsornin, will be it.

Geronimo had already set the pace, and as a 2 1/2 year old, he went second in the Flamingo Stakes, in a field of ten, he then went on and finished second in the Twilight Stakes, out of eight. In the same year he finished second in the Santa Anita on Home Stretch, before going on to win the February Dawn Treader. He finished second in the sought after Kentucky Derby on Major Horse Shows, in a field of sixteen! He also raced his heart out and got second in the Preakness Stakes, out of fourteen! He was already catching the eyes of many at this point. His last major race was the Belmont Stakes, where he got second in a large field, right behind Admiral's Revenge. He was the chosen favourite to beat the other stallion, however we will never know, since he threw a shoe coming into the home stretch.
