The night sky was broken by the roar of a massive airplane arriving at the airport. Bright white lights flashed on it's wings, briefly luminating the surrounding area. The plane had landed without any malfunctions; the wheels folding down as it soared in from the ebony night sky. Matty had just folded up a draft of the Godolphin Gazette she had been working on. With a stretch, she waited for the plane to come to a halt. The pilot had given the okay to remove the seat-belts and start unpacking your carry-ons, so she stood up and had a long-awaited stretch before grabbing her bag. She pulled back her long blond hair into a pony tail, slipped into her leather Godolphin jacket, and had squeezed her way down the isle. After checking with staff and giving her letter of consent, she went out the exit and followed the her airport guide to a special door in the tunnel that opened to the cool night air. They clattered down the metal stairs and out onto the pavement, which hummed underneath their feet as another plane landed in the distance. Matty turned to watch as a large machine took the horse box out of the plane and lowered it to the ground onto a flatbed trailer.
In the distance a crowd had gathered, photographers mainly, all from the local paper and Thoroughbred magazine. Matty gave a short wave before she clambered into the half golf cart, half truck that pulled the horse box. The almost seventeen hand chestnut stallion inside let out an annoyed bellow. He wanted out. The bright headlights of the new Godolphin semi, hauling behind it the mother of all horse trailers, cut through the inky blackness and came to a stop by the horse box. Matty hoped out of the truck and ran to wards the semi as Chase opened up the door and slid out, his smile bright and full of laughter as he picked Matty up in his arms and raised her in the air, kissing her lips before putting her back down again. "I missed you." She said as she hugged him tightly and then let him go. "I missed you too. How was the flight? And the golden monster?" Chase laughed, his voice deep and excited. He had been working on the small six stall barn that would serve as Godolphin's residence on the Wire. The ten acres they had bought looked simply marvelous, the turf patted down and flowers planted, and a small two bedroom cottage built twenty-five meters from the barn. "Tor is going to love it there." He added as he heard Tor give the side of the horse box a kick, which sent the supportive chains swinging. "Well, let's get him out before he destroys that stall." Matty laughed as they ran together to wards the box. Staff rushed to open the doors as Matty was handed the Geronimo and Miss Matinee's son's halter and walked into the small alleyway of the large shipping box to the single stall that held the magnificent colt. Tor turned his head when he heard her familiar footsteps and tugged at the short rope that kept him tied to the side of the stall, his face up against the bar window as he let out an excited neigh. "That sounded a little feminine." Matty joked as she opened up the door and slipped inside.
Tor continued to dance as she slipped on his leather halter and took off the ratty shipping one he had used on the flight. Matty shanked him back and made him wait as she opened the door and carefully led him out. Cameras flashed as he carefully walked down the ramp and then, like usual, arched his neck, and looked around with eyes that said 'the king has arrived, ladies and gents!'. Matty just shook her head and smiled as she held him by the halter with one hand kept the lead in the other. She walked him around a few times to let him stretch his legs, checked underneath his black and purple Godolphin blanket to make sure he wasn't sweating, and then walked him over to the impressive trailer. Tor swished his tail and let out a long, booming call, his head held high and knees popping up in a prance as they got closer to the semi.
"You just had to add that, didn't you." Matty chuckled as Chase lowered the ramp and Tor started to walk up it. He paused and looked back at the crowd, or in their general direction, and let out another loud neigh before boarding and going into a massive stall that was topped with soft bedding and had fully padded walls. "Almost there." Matty whispered as Tor reluctantly moved into the corner so she could tie him up again. His ears flicked back and he pulled at the tie. "I know, I know. Just a little bit longer. Promise." She said with a sigh, before closing the stall door and walked out of the trailer and over to Chase who lifted and secured the ramp. Tor let out one more long note that ended in a stomp. Tsornin had arrived in his new world.
