We rarely have had to reclaim a horse, but we do insist this contract must be read and agreed to before you are allowed to inquire about a horse or breeding/brood for sale. Our rules are simple, mostly common sense, and we ask that you please take them seriously. I hate seeing long, boring contracts that go on forever. Here at Godolphin, is has never been first come first serve, and it never will be. We have no need for money at all, so must I remind that money has no effect of our decisions. We are looking for homes that have the following:
1. Not too many horses.
2. A personal vibe. We aren't looking for our horses to go to mass production-like stables where they will become just another number.
3. A program that our horse can fit easily into.
4. A consistent past record. Quitting SIMs every month and repeatedly changing your stable name and/or type of breeding program will not get you far with us.
5. "Professional-ness". My own word which means a nice stable site (I don't care what kind), good grammar and attitude, and a mature, realistic outlook on how business should be done.
Now on to our Contract.
GODOLPHIN STABLES SALES CONTRACT
1. Foal must be actively shown. If it is a Reveille offspring it must be shown in the AHAC.
2. Buybacks to Godolphin.
3. Please do not over breed the horse (six or so foals would be plenty). I hold you responsible for finding good homes for the foals, and would really love it if you contacted me before breeding them for the first time, as I am always willing to help with stats.
4. Don't change the photos. If you would like photos without a border or larger, please ask, but the names must remain on (unless you put the name on yourself). If you wish to use no photos that is fine. If the horse has no photos, you may find some.
5. The prefix GS cannot be removed, nor can the rest of the name be changed. (THIS IS FOR HOMEBREDS ONLY. If you purchase a breeding, you may use your own prefix/suffix, however we like to approve the name you choose)
6. We ask that at all times the foal (if sired by Reveille or Versace) must be two years younger than their sire and dam. For Smiles Boo, his age vs. his foal's age differ greatly because I age 1 RL Year = 1 Year for my racehorses, but I RL Year = 2 Years for my eventers, and Boo has produced a lot of eventers. So just inform us of your aging system after purchase.
7. Colts can be gelded, but mares cannot be "spayed" unless it is because of a hormonal problem (very very unlikely).
8. Don't change their disciplines. I know what these horses can athletically handle, and from there have chosen disciplines they will excel in. If you would like to add another discipline that is along the lines of their already decided ones then please PM me, I am totally willing to discuss it.
9. Keep us updated! We always like to know how our babies are doing, and a simple PM with some news is wonderful.
10. We need a working URL page within two weeks. It needs to be kept updated and working.
11. If you fail to complete these above rules or end up on our bad side due to another bad deal etc, we, Godolphin, have the right to reclaim the horse without question. This is very unlikely, and we of course will talk to you, but we still have the authority and the right to. If you end up on our black list, and the horse is happy and being actively shown and cared for, we will not take the horse back. We will always do what we think is best for the horse. (Note, in five years I've only ever had to reclaim a couple horses just because the owners went inactive.)
HOW TO APPLY
1. Fill out the below form.
2. Make sure you sign the contract part of the form if you agree to it.
3. Post this in the horses's thread you are interested in purchasing. Use your usual screen name as your guest name.
REMINDER
Just because you posted the above does not mean you get the horse. In a week (or sooner if I find the perfect home) I will decide, from the people who applied, who the horse goes home with. If only one person applies, and frankly they are just not a suitable home, I will keep the horse. Please, do not take it personal if you are not chosen, and please feel free to come back to our next foal crop! I might have just felt that you and the horse were not the right fit, but come back next year and see if we have anything new that interests you
